RED Mini Primes on Epic

Since there is such a huge crop factor on the Epic when shooting in 300FPS 2k mode, I was wondering if there will be a mount for the Epic, to use the RED Mini Primes in order to achieve wider angles when shooting 300fps.

I guess it depends on if the RED Mini-Prime mount for the Scarlet Cinema is the same dimensions as the Epic mounts. If so, then it's "four screws."
I guess we'll find out when we find out (with the new sharing of information philosophy).

Yeah, im sure it will have to be a different mount, the size of the scarlet mount is really small compared to the epic.

P.s. RED, if you adopt my idea, I get 10% of all sales of scarlet to epic mounts...lol jk

Btw, is there still a Scarlet interchangeable with PL mount or BNCR ? for s16 lenses ?

From what we have been told, all the mounts for all the cameras should be interchangable.

So you should be able to put your mini-PL on your Epic and your standard PL on your Scarlet.

RED has announced that they will be producing PL, mini-PL, Canon, and Nikon mounts. They may produce a BNCR mount in the future, but they haven't said anything. Right now, that sounds like a perfect third-party request.

(Edit: This post is thrown somewhat into shadow by the fact that the current Ti PL mount in the RED Store does not show a check next to "works with Scarlet". Something may have changed. Jarred?)

I remember from the beginning, the scarlet interchangeable mount will be different then epic's mount. When the canon mount was originally brought up. I think Jarred said it wont work on the scarlet. So I think there will need to be a different mount created for epic to use scarlet's lenses
