RED has quietly released proper mic cable:

$45 - not bad at all...

I just bought the A-Box haha...
Cannot totally compare but with my tight budget that would have been enough :-D

Yes. We heard enough comments about pin out confusion and build quality on available 3rd party cables to know we would best serve our customers by offering a high build quality RED option. And I can confirm that this cable will support +48V Phantom power once that feature is enabled in camera software.

Much appreciated Stuart...

Given the popularity and spread of the on-camera mics (such as the RODE Video Mic Pro) - could you guys also make an official cable to connect to these? Even super short "extension/converter" - like 3-6 inch would be fantastic...

Thanks again and keep up the great job!

Peter

I just saw this in the store. It looks like a slightly less expensive option compared to the A-Box.

Thank god. I was so confused with the various threads about cables that did / didn't work and might hurt the camera that I am just not using audio now. In a utopian world, that little button mic that was demo'd would be wonderful, but this will do for now.
