  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED meeting in London 29th Sept 2007

Silly billy - you can just turn up on the day. That goes for anyone. It's nice to have a rough idea of numbers just so we get a big enough table; but we don't have to be exact.

Anyway Dom, just forward your cheque for 100 quid to me C/O The Couch and we'll enjoy ourselves at your expense ! If you do make it I'm sure we can stretch to buy you at least a half and if you don't - well Weahh Hayyy !!

I do hope you can make it!

All the best, Phil
Lol, you cheeky beggar!! Wish I could splash that kind of cash around - I promise you'll be the first to benefit when I can <crosses fingers whilst typing - actually quite difficult>!

I've just found out that I'm getting flown to Helsinki film festival with a feature I shot (ooh, check me out!!), and am returning on the 29th. Not sure what time, but will be flying into Gatwick at a guess, so hopefully I can come n catch up with you guys before going home - at the very least I wanna grab that half out of my hundred knicker!!!

If I get in later than 5 (come on - you're not really gonna be going home at 5 are you?! - By the sounds of things you 'n' Paul are gonna be there until at least 3am!) then I'll be very sorry to have missed you all again!

Take care one and all - really hope I catch you all there...
Dom.

Not sure on that one

Not sure on that one

Excellent. I'll look forward to it.

Incidentally will any UK people have cameras for hire in mid Oct?

Dale

Hi Dale,

You'll have to ask Rory assumming he shows up?

He's the only one likely to have a camera by then. The last message we had from him was reminicent of WWII Spitfire pilot in a dog fight.

"Gerry's coming out of the sun at 2 O'Clock - I'm going to end up in the Briney! Ahhhh" That's not ver batim exactly but you get the gist?

He's 'busy' in other words, so we may not see him this time.

Anyway, we all look forward to meeting you Dale (don't mention the rugby) McCready.

Best regards, Phil

Welcome Mark!

Welcome Mark!

If you don't mind Gate Crashers I could be in time to make an appearance!! Leaving Palau on the 26th, then a few airports, stopovers (not of the dirty kind) and delays via Hong Kong. Gotta dump the gear at a mates place in Bristol first......

Cheers,
Mark.

Hi Mark,

Great to hear from you!

We don't mind where you've been mate! All are welcome!

We'll be there from about midday to about 8pm I guess. I'll PM you my mobile number in case you need to call.

I'm sure you can regail us with sea faring, underwater, daring dooo stories about punching great white sharks on the nose ??

No? Well we can always talk about the football (Rugby and cricket are no go areas I'm afraid).

I do hope you can make it after all those flight connections?

I'm really looking forward to meeting you and sharing a pint or two!

All the best, Phil

Hi Dom,

I'm sure we can all wait patiently while you pick up your trophy and supple Finnish whenches salivate over your film making prowess. After you've torn yourself away from, the recognition and adulation, that inevitably follow from success at an obscure Film Festival; you will be able to rely on your mates (that's us BTW) to bring you crashing back down to earth with a few well chosen insults - after you've got your round in!

I'll PM you my mobile just in case you decide to spend some quality time with one of those Finnish whenches instead of hang'ng with da boyzzz.

All the best, Phil

Phew, glad to hear that. Never understood Cricket and Rugby is a game played by men with funny shaped balls.....:waaa:

Cheers,
Mark.

Ha ha ha - excellent!! I used to play rugby . . . and you are so right . . . you haven't been peeking have you ???? Arf arf!

If I did the missus would make sure I'd qualify to play the game!!! Yikes.....

Well my sentiments entirely - I mean you can see where they got the idea from can't you?? Tee hee.

Lol again!!!

Thanks mate - knew I could count on you! Got your number, so cheers for that and hopefully I'll be able to make it down in time to get some grief from our Kiwi mate over our inability to chase eggs - let you know the likelihood once I get the flight details...

Take care me old china,
Dom.

I'll try and make it but it will be a last minute thing for me if it happens. Is there a secret handshake or password so ill know what you guys look like?:)

Hi guys,

Sorry to ditch you again (I'm starting to worry that you're all going to think I'm avoiding you!), but due to flight availability I'm going to be coming back on the Sunday rather than Sat, so looks like I won't be able to make it. Bummer...

Have a good old piss up though guys, make sure you drink one for me!...

Secret password enclosed - do not read

Hi Stephen, Ahem - the secret passwords are "Hello - you must be the RED people - can I get any one a drink?" It's that simple - you will be able to recognise me from my avatar which actually bears an uncannily close resemblance to me - because it is in fact a photograph.

I should point out that it isn't life size, as you would see it on your computer screen. And just to fool you I may be wearing a hat. So just look for a bald old fart who looks horribly out of place in a trendy west London bar and Bob's your mothers brother.

OK?

Just joshing mate - we're really looking forward to you getting a round in!

All the best, Phil

Well as Paul said it's getting perilously close to opening time for us. At the moment we have about 9 people as we're minus a 'Dom' but possibly plus a 'Stephen'.

I'll book a table for a round dozen just in case a few 'lurkers' want to join in at the last minute. I've been doing my best to put them off and keep the costs down, but some people are just impossible to separate from their booze.

Controversially we could invite Taylor and maybe Kevin as well - otherwise she might get lost; and if she did - in this part of London - she might never be spotted fully dressed ever again - and that would be terrible wouldn't it???? Arf Arf.

C'mon on Taylor - jump in Jims private jet - land at London docklands - Stephen Murphy wants to buy you a drink!

Cheers, Phil

And the award for letting the side down goes to . . .

I don't know some people - it looks like the supple Finnish whenches won the day then Dom - all that salivating over your prowess has done the trick has it! Lucky chap!

Of course Dom - no one has told you the truth - they're all 7' high, have thighs like tug boats, take steriods on a regular basis and make Arnie look like a wimp - so be prepared to duck at a moments notice - otherwise they could have your head off!!

Anyway, good luck with awards part of the festival though; I was nominated for an award at an obscure film festival once you know . . ohh yeah . . I'm quite the high flyer . . . . tee hee.

A round of tap water it is then...:)

LOL!!! Nice one !

I see you think on your feet - sapristy nerdlers professor Moriarty - we'll have to set an elephant trap for him! :shiftyph34r:

Of course we might end up with an elephant that way - or even a large wholly mammoth and one of those could drink us all under the table. Damn and blast - I've been foiled by my own stupidity!! Aarrhhh

SFX - man falling from 35 story building :rip_1:

UK National Film and Television School RED day

UK National Film and Television School RED day

I just thought you'd all like to know that I have just spoken to John Houchin at the NFTS , which is the most prestigous establishment of it's kind in the UK, and we have agreed to have a RED day; where we can put the camera through it's paces using all of the considerable the facilities that they have there. It was actually Paul Clements who suggested this a while ago.

We will most likely do this in November or December depending on the availability of cameras and some of the DP's and operators that John wants to get involved.

We have also agreed to make a RED camera available to some of the students to shoot their graduation piece - which I'm really thrilled about.

Anyway - I'll keep you posted on any more developments as they happen but we'll definately talk about this on Saturday.

See you there!

All the best, Phil

Working, but hope to pop in for a drink or two before you all disperse!

Cheers
