I have a small idea for RedUser.net!

Since there clearly is a market for used Red merchandise
why don't you guys simple create a safe avenue for use members!
How you may ask??
Set up a safe secure way for us to pay each other kinda like paypal.
Heck you guys can even charge the 3 percent paypal charge
thus making some good coin for yourself! It will be like ebay ONLY
we should call it RedBay or Redplace or heck RedMarket!
just a idea so please don't BAN me haha! I personlly almost bit
the bullet on a 3800.00 transaction. Took me nearly 3 weeks to get my
money back. See you guys could have made 114 bucks off me if it would
have been a smooth transaction! Heck take 1% for covering my butt lol.
38 bucks for keeping my money safe in these shark infested waters lol.
If u like the idea just pay me a super small fee haha.

I don't fully agree that reduser should host something like ebay but I will suggest people use a reputable escrow company to handle large transactions.

It's not simple. Getting a money transmitting license these days is hard. Get ready to spend millions to be able to operate in the 38+ or so states that requires this license. Not that RED can't afford millions but just to serve reduser members is not enough for the effort (time, money, headaches).

Edit: the only online escrow company you should use is Escrow.com. Do not use any other online company period.

What RED can do to make it easier for us is to have some sort of verification service. Maybe members who own red gear and have their credit card on file or any other identity on file with RED, they can have a "Verified" status under their username? It's not 100% guarantee that you won't get ripped off but at least you know the person is verified.

Yeah that's def a step in the right direction! Like hey I've did X amount of transaction on this site and Reduser can verify this.
As far as the millions of dollars to accept money then release it.... I didn't think that far ahead BUT your only acting as a escrow
so to speak. I Think it's as simple as Reduser setting up some super secure servers etc. At the very most they would have to report the
income......... ! I dunno.

I was referring to your comment here "Set up a safe secure way for us to pay each other kinda like paypal." in regards to being a money transmitter. An escrow company is a different thing all together but RED won't have the time nor would they want to do that :) The best way is just to have the Verified label for members. I just noticed that this is in the wrong section of the forum.

Where do I post this then??? Also we should push this Verified thing. If we can't convince them to do a Paypal/Escrow thing...
lets try your idea of pushing the Verified part. A huge V or slightly smaller Verified insignia next to the user name that has proven there selves
of being super solid sellers AND BUYER!

It would likely not be worth the time and expense, not to mention it's far and away from Red's business model to do anything like this. Paypal and other services currently exist to provide safe money transactions.

While I understand the desire, especially with the higher price transaction of the type of equipment we use, it's just probably not going to be something done here.

Leroy, if you really want to push this then just open up a new thread under "Off Topics" and make a poll. Maybe ask how many reduser members would want a "verified" insignia under their username. Maybe if there is enough demand, RED can simply create another group called verified. All it would take is the checking if the member has equipment registered on RED.com. With that said, I can just see it now... "but I thought this guy was verified!" :)

Why can't RED start a used online store and buy used items from the sellers and sell it on the online used store website. Like the Battle tested ones.

They're just not in the business for small potatoes. They sell battle tested items because they obviously have a lot of capital tied up in those returned units. Trust me, it won't happen anytime soon.
