Reduser is awesome for people who like forums.

But MANY professional folks would rather read a well written technical article or interview than dig through post after post and try to luck into the best content.

RED can do their product Magazine like Arri does.
But invite a DP that has to speak under contract (financially or by personal commitment bound contract) to the glory of a manufacturer is the most ugly thing I've seen happening with big name DP for Arri and Sony. Remember the one speakin how 2k is great and future proof. What a pitty.

They are tools. No tool is the perfect one for all jobs.

Hope RED has more class than they do.

Who wants to read this kind of bullshit during 50 pages from DP X to DP Y?

Do DP's really need to be convinced by X dp that the tool they use is the good one?

Publish once a quarter.

In depth technical interviews with cinematographers, DITs, colorists.

It would be a huge hit and target serious professionals who can't take the pain that Reduser dishes out now and then

I was just reading the arri magazine, i like it but is a bit too glossy for me and I have a hard time using it to better my work. On the other extreme the reduser forum has excellent technical information intermixed with total bullshit, most of the people I know can't deal with the reduser forum.

I think pro's would love a technical RED USER magazine, with so many things in the industry changing, it's hard to keep up with exactly how to connect things and make them work in production environments.

Yup. Agreed. IMO RED could easily make a much better quarterly publication than the ARRI NEWS. I know print is "old school" - but it still has meaningful impact.

Not being in to print, I prefer something like Jarred posted, and would like to see all those types of articles from the internet linked to.

Reason I prefer this type of information to a camera-specific magazine is that one can reasonably assume the information offered is based on merit, and not necessarily loyalty.

Sure I'm guilty of posting loyally, but I read material based on pragmatism.

If the subject matter is just technical, aren't there trade magazines that cover that?
