Red mag not mounting on camera

Help please. Have just arrived at the second location of a four week shoot in Alaska. Camera has been working perfectly but now the red mags won't mount on the camera via the side SSD.

They either don't show at all when inserted into the slot, or are unformatable, sometimes they spontaneously eject.

I have tried a complete system restore to no avail

The camera may well have received a knock in transit, but there are no signs of damage and seems to be working fine in all other respects.

Any help / suggestions would be gretefully received!

Try formatting the mags on ideally a PC as FAT32 (or Mac, but some of the latest OSXs don't allow FAT32 natively). Then reformat on the camera before use.

Take off the SSD module, check the contacts, maybe clean a little, put it back on. You never know!

john….can I ask everyone…a question…we are on location…and our camera is down..red mx…the tech says there is a cpu defect…what exactly does that mean??? don't try running the camera??? right now we are on location…so if we could do something here...

Thanks for advice, I have tried all suggestions, and have 3 out of the 4 mags mounting on the camera ok.

It's all rather odd; mags only show up as usable one the camera has warmed up, and higher frame rates (90 fps at 4K) seem to upset the camera and it displays an error message and needs to be shut down. It also takes 30 seconds or more to format a card when it typically used to only take 5 secs.

Replacement camera arrives tomorrow.

Dio - don't post in multiple unrelated threads about your cpu defect problem.

If you start your own thread about your problem you will get an answer more quickly and not annoy other Redusers!
