In the handheld configurations thread I posted a shot of the Red LCD mounted to the cross bar using an ET Speedy Clamp.

There are a couple options for quick releasing your monitor using Element Technica gear.

1. The Element Speedy Clamp has a 1/4-20 hole tapped in it that can be used to mount the Red Arm, or any other accessory requiring 1/4-20. Speedy Clamps come in 15mm and 19mm and can clamp around a rod anywhere on the camera. I took a few photos of it on a top rod, and also mounted to a rod coming off the cheese stick handle (along with a Viewfactor motor). The cheese stick will also make a great place to mount the Inclino as well as any other remote focus motors.

2. If you have the ET Cheese Stick top handle, you can also use a Monster Cine spud to create a quick release system for the Red Arm. You just attach the spud to the Monitor Arm and then use one of the tubular clamps in the Cheese Stick to attach the Arm.

Didn't mean to get you excited about the Inclino motor that is pictured. It is a non-working model. But I know Curt is working hard and I'm excited to see the working system when it comes out.

Abel sells both the Bogen Nano Clamp as well as the ET Speedy Clamp. The Speedy Clamps are specifically sized to fit to 15mm or 19mm rods (depending on model). When attached to the proper rod they have incredible gripping force as they are using all of their available surface area for contact. The Nano Clamp is a generic clamp designed to work on many surfaces. It is far more versatile than the Speedy Clamp but does not have the same gripping force as any given attachment will only have a smaller surface area actually connecting. I'd trust the Nano with a RED monitor because they weigh nothing but I wouldn't trust it with something like a Panasonic LH900 8.4" LCD, which would slip immediately. I have not tried the 8.4" on a Speedy Clamp, but I think it could probably handle it.

The Nano is also much chunkier than the Speedy, which can be an issue in the limited real estate around a camera.

We purchased a Manfrotto Clamp when we were contemplating how to attach various accessories but were never pleased with weight, finish or clamping force.

Our SpeedyClamp is:

CNC machined from 7075 aircraft grade aluminum and 300 series stainless.
1/4 the weight of the Manfrotto
capable of almost twice the clamping force of the Manfrotto
Has a genuine Kipp Handle; K1000

Manfrotto is solid cast aluminum with big steel pins and a Kipp knock-off. This is okay for a $35 piece of hardware but it's not what you expect to see on a pro camera.

If you're ever in the area you're welcome to stop by and test them both yourself.
