  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I love big LCD's, and a don't think the 5" touch lcd will be enough for me. I have used and absolutely love the 7" RED ONE LCD. What I want to know is, if i mount a red one top handle on a cinema Scarlet (If that is even possible,) can I mount a 7" Red LCD on the top handle and connect that to a scarlet? Will I lose any functionality, other then touch focusing?
Will it be harder to navigate though the menus? I would appreciate feedback from the RED team as soon as possible as I want to buy 7" LCD before It goes out of stock. Thanks.

It is my general understanding, but I would love to hear clarification, that the touch functions of the new LCDs are somewhat integral to the operation of the Scarlet. That said, given that the Scarlet also supports the EVF for viewing, perhaps all other capabilities could also be accessed some other way - perhaps through the REDmote. Interesting questions overall.
 
I would guess that the menus can be completely accessed through the redmote and that a touch screen is not 100% necessary to run the camera. That would seem somewhat counterproductive to a modular design and certain setups where you don't want too many accessories on the camera.
 
I would like to know if it will be possible to use touchscreen LCD also thru HDMI?
