All,

During the last rental, my RED 5.6 LCD has acquired a new crack/chip which doesn's show up when the LCD is switched off.
Please see the attached image, you can find the web like crack on the top left at ISO display.
Can some one please advise on how and where I can get this fixed?

Thanks
Murali

I had a DP break my LCD screen before he got out of the hotel room. Red Europe made the problem go away for only £800, which I eventually got back from the director. My most expensive camera repair actually. Maybe your problem is just the plastic cover though ;)

They put a new middle bit into my existing LCD skin, if that makes sense. Hopefully there is just a relatively cheap plastic protective layer between the expensive bit that can be simply replaced.. I'd ask them

I can't believe you guys are renting out monitors without Lexan covers on them.

Thanks guys.
I reached out to Jacek, communicating with him as we speak.
What is a Lexan cover?
I did have a screen protector cover but the crack went beneath the plastic. Looks like the LCD seem to have got crushed by some thing sharp, pointed.

Lexan cover is simply a piece of Lexan plastic cut to size to fit over the LCD screen - maybe velcro'd into position around the edges of the metal frame of the LCD to hold in place. Lexan is an incredibly tough plastic, shatter and scratch resistant - better a piece of plastic take any knocks and bumps than the actual LCD surface. You can get it from any DIY store - or order a small sheet online and make a few for the LCD incase one does get damaged.
