Hey guys,

I'm by all means, an amateur. A curious hobby user. A weekend warrior, youtube tech reviewer - and I know there are extremely talented and wonderful people on this forum that have much more practical experience in 'real filmmaking' than I do, which to be honest, my experience in that area amounts to basically zero.. I just really like lights (and cameras). I've also wanted to own a RED ever since I learned about them. So now, I am also a RED Komodo owner, because I've re-invested all of the money playing on youtube has generated back into my filmmaking hobby-pursuit. 91 days after I placed my order, it showed up yesterday.

So obviously, I had to live stream with it. I am just super excited. I know I have a lot to learn, but I thought this setup was pretty interesting and wanted to share anyways.

Thanks for having me as a part of your community.

That's a rad set-up.... Minus the 10ft SDI cable, obviously! :D

FYI, the camera broadcasts a live wireless feed, and I've been told you can punch its IP address into OBS (if that's what you're using) and it can livestream directly from the camera (allowing you to skip the Hollyland and ATEM altogether)... Granted I think the ATEM allows for much better Multicam/Livesteam control... And no one has mentioned range or how much of a delay there is. But still worth testing/playing with and it'd get the rig down even smaller!

Thanks man. I use the ATEM Mini Pro ethernet out directly into the router, so OBS isn't an option there. I don't use any software during my live stream. All hardware controlled once it's set up.. only time I pump in a computer screen would be to bring on a guest. You will be proud of me.. I ordered a couple tiny SDI cables to fix that nasty rats nest. :)

Wait, what? I didn't even know you could do that with the ATEM!... Like pipe it directly into Youtube Live sans computer? That's awesome!

And LOOOL. Is it one of those thin/flexible ones?

Yeah! Once it's set up, you don't even need a computer. As for the SDI cables I ordered.. a couple of cheap ones: https://www.adorama.com/iasdislm18.html (hoping the thin shielding doesn't give me issues). The setup eventually will be komodo -> sdi -> monitor -> sdi -> transmitter.

Make sure they are 12G even if you are not monitoring in 12G. RED and Jared have stated a few times to always use 12G cables with Komodo even if you are monitoring in 3G.
