Nice find Rand.
With a lack of user buttons on Komodo this is much needed and long overdue.

Being Wireless is a useful touch.

Hope it integrates well the camera's interface and does not conflict with the RED Control app.

Brian,

Thanks! Yeah I thought I saw this advertised a while back but maybe this is an updated model. I think the one I remember was maybe from another company and it might have used a wired lanc connection.

I do think Portkeys had an earlier model but it was DSMC2 based and I believe it was wired.

Aaton released this but not sure if it's still available. It also did not support DSMC 3 based cameras.

Oh okay, I didn't realize that there were wireless grip controllers out there in the market until I saw this. And $1,240 for that Anton Smart grip, damn!. But I guess that it was priced relative to the cost of the the DSMC 1 and 2 cameras back in the day.

Yeah price is up there.
I mean, granted it's an Aaton. I'm sure the ergonomics are great.
Aaton's founder, Jean-Pierre Beauviala, came up with the concept of "cat on the shoulder" for how a camera should feel sitting on the shoulder of a camera operator. I've known too many crazy cats to relate to that saying (I will always remember you Sadie).

Perhaps "bird in the hand" would be fitting for proper ergonomics for a hand grip.... or maybe not.

Anyway, hope this Portkeys works well. It's a needed accessory.

I hope so for everyone needing it.
