  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Komodo Footage/ Review portal

Alain, Thank you again very much for these R3D stills. The color grading for this looks great. I just made some exposure suggestions in some of the images below. I didn't change any of your color corrections at all except the skintone of the female talent next to the black Sport utility vehicle which looked a little green under those lights.

Red Komodo ANAMORPHIC Footage with Atlas Orion Lenses (6K Cinematic Footage Film & Low Light Test)

This week we took out the Red to shoot some Red Komodo Anamorphic Footage with Atlas Orion Lenses. We tried to create some 6K Cinematic Footage out at the beach. The test footage we shot on Red Komodo is both at sunset and at night. So you can see some Red Komodo low light footage, too.

If you're looking to see the Red Komodo Atlas Orion combo, this Komodo 6K film will hopefully whet your whistle! In the Red Komodo footage, we tried to include some lens flares as well as contrasty shots to show the dynamic range. The Red Komodo test footage was all shot on the Atlas Orion 40mm lens in 6K mode.

The Red Komodo 6k anamorphic footage impressed us and we are hoping to compare it to the Alexa Mini soon. Keep a look out for that video soon. The Red Komodo 6k low light footage also looked good. We only used natural light and a small LED wand. We look forward to making more Red Komodo cinematic footage soon!

Any idea if this will allow the Wooden Camera Gold mount back to still be used when this is in the BP battery plate?

Austin,

from the photos on Instagram and their website it seems to use the Komodo`s Ext port. In one of the photos from their website they show it not even using the BP mount at all.

Thanks Guys... The R3D had the basic ipp2 I never color graded the images. But great you guys shared some suggestions.....

I ll dig in when the color grading process begins...

Red should pick this guy up with a deal to use his short video as a showcase of Komodo. He really showcases that Komodo works for classical cinema.
