Does anyone have the problem that black shading is always broken off as a failure on the beta firmware 1.7. I downgraded to 1.65 and now I can blackshade normally. On 1.7 I always get the blackshading failure. Up and Downgrade a few times always the same. thanks

No issues here. I suggest the following steps:
- Upgrade to 1.7.0beta
- Remove lens and use body cap
- Reset camera to factory defaults (important)
- Perform calibration

I have the exact same issue as Jörn. Calibration works perfectly on 1.65 but fails every time on 1.7beta.
Unfortunately Ian's suggestion did not solve the issue for me.
Any other suggestions?
Would be a shame to downgrade to 1.65.

I've noticed 1.70 is a little more sensitive to failures and i think it could be due to too much ambient light in some cases or using the EF adapter instead of the RF cap.

Do this first, Blackshade the camera in the darkest room you can find and see if it works. Make sure you're using the RF Body cap and not the adapter. If im blackshading outside, i have some black fabric i cover the front of the camera up with just to go a step further.

I've ran into that. No issues after rolling back to 1.6.5. Seems like something with the beta firmware.

You could always run a log file by Red Support just in case.

Thanks Tyler. If they upped the sensitivity then that explains it. I’ve got the Kippertie ND filter EF to RF mount adapter. It’s not meant for removing so I can’t use the RF cap.

Okay gotta find a way to block more light with the mount adapter on. (On 1.6.5 it was fine with the mount adapter)

Thanks Jay. Good idea, I will try with the log file.
