  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red just erased my thread about a scammer : Ryan Boyer.

And please don't say it is because we gave private infos, there are NOT private, we found these infos on the WEB !

So explain why did you erase ?

I send 1850 USD to this guy, thanks lord it is on paypal, so I will probably have my money back...

Just put my story on the forum and they erased the thread !!!

Anyway ! Red says that they are not reponsable : OK well ! BUT LET THE RED USERS TRY TO MAKE IT MORE SECURE !

Very very very strange.

Yes the last user that was almost scammed by this guy was banned because he was very vocal about it. Will the moderators please ban Ryan Boyer once and for all? He's an obvious scammer. I wanted to say more about him after the last user got banned but I didn't want to get banned myself.
 
Whether or not you can dig up private info on the web doesn't mean you can repost it on Reduser because it may be used to harm someone, guilty or innocent. The moderators are trying to figure out what to do about the situation, but in the meanwhile, don't post personal info about someone you have a complaint about.
 
Anyway, they can just ERASE THE PRIVATE INFOS, NOT ALL THE THREAD ! I am so furious by the way you treat the honest users and customers in this section !

Easy to know who is a scammer when RED MODERATORS ERASE THREADS ABOUT SCAMS !!!!

Threads get deleted all the time.

There was a long thread about this guy a while back. I remember his avatar, him in his truck with a dog.

Generally when a thread gets deleted you might feel insulted, but the mods do it because its probably for the best.

While I appreciate you trying to warn people there is a level headed way to introduce the information.

Like,

"what out for xyz. I might have been scammed by him. "

You don't have to hold a trial in the thread.

If someone is suspect could they be put on suspension? My fear is that in the meantime he could be Private Messaging REDusers in an attempt to scam them. It seems very easy to prove someone's identity and whether or not they actually own an Epic. I would happily submit my ID and info to the mods to prove mine.
 
Damn, I just paid for a RED Touch from this guy, looks like I just got scammed for the first time ever on REDuser, after 100+ transactions. Here we go with paypal resolution...

REALLY ?? what is going on that moderators cannot leave info up to keep from the majority of honest RU's to trade and do biz. Regardless of private info or not posted. This info needs to be here to protect the community. Stand up for this for gods sake. == Balls. I think the red leader would not stand for such disrespect to other fair users of this forum.

It is the first time for me too to pay to a scammer ! But here, he is using paypal so it is really hard to scam with paypal...

I call today, this person exists but seems to be impossible to have on the phone. I had guys three times and all said : she is all the time working (from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening...everyday ! She seems to be not at all a very big photographer...But maybe pets photographers work all the time)

This e-mail is her e-mail, I am sure because she has a facebook, a flicker, a twitter, she is from marietta, she makes pictures of animal, it is the good person but the guy said she has nothing from red...

So it is a crazy story...Maybe she share is paypal account with the scammer and now he is using it to scam and she doesn't know ???

Crazy. Really crazy.

Of course YES WE CAN, and we HAVE TO. Or give me the exact law to prove what you said.

It is OK to warn other users but I agree that posting details in a warning thread is too much, you must try and keep those things somewhat objective. The erased thread had some personal details and addresses in it, which you can't include.

Aside from that, I did just start a PP resolution and it was automatically upgraded to a claim, so looks like bad news. Guess I got too comfortable buying on here, didn't even research the user before buying. Yikes
 
Rob, it is a good sign.

Here in France, paypal is closed, but don't wait and call to paypal and explain exactly what is happening and say that another paypal member has a problem with the same paypal account, it could be accelerate the refund ! I sent to you my e-mail in P.M.

Give me you e mail and name too, I will call to paypal tomorrow.

Once you post accusations online, you enter muddy legal water, and Landmine (who runs reduser) might become liable. Posting personal information is definitely not o.k., no matter what. On a general note, if you want to persecute a scammer, attacking him publicly and posting private information is a very good method to make sure that he will get away with it. So — Don't. Post. Personal. Information.

Ryan has now been temporarily banned. If he doesn't rectify the situation, the ban will be expanded and become permanent.

I almost got scammed for a 128 redmag for 800. As soon as I made payment never heard from the guy. I of suspicious pm a bunch of people on his friends, then I put a stop payment in the nick of time. Now after a week, my money is finally getting transferred from Paypal. He uses Gavina Reitanuer's email address...as soon as I put a stop payment Ryan's and gavina both asked why I made a stop payment and they were going to mail it. I said nice try. I want my money back and gavina approved to do my refund. But definitely be weary of this guy.
