Full disclosure: My sister works for Indie Dolly, and I loaned them my camera to demo at NAB.

I was impressed as soon as I set up the camera on the Indie Dolly system with how well the weight was accommodated - we're looking at something over 35lbs. here with my Cooke 20-100 and the Hytron 140 on board. (I'll upload a picture of the whole setup when I have a chance to plug my camera in.)

The movement was incredibly fluid and smooth. Where this is not evident (in most of my footage) it is due to my hastiness in grabbing a few clips to post here at the end of a very long day walking the floors. You can kind of see that where it's jerky - it's either my pulling the dolly a little hard, or my pan head resisting a bit.

My camera will be set up with the system Tues, Wed, and maybe Thurs in the middle of the central hall, near the north side. Indie Dolly is sharing it's booth with EZ FX - and I will hopefully be shooting some footage with their jib and my red in the next couple days as well. If you're looking for Indie Dolly, the listing is under EZ FX.

The Indie Dolly is no competition with the heavyweight pro dollies - but of the prosumer dollies on the market, it is absolutely the best buy.

So, here's my footage. If you're at NAB, come check it out yourself.

I saw this yesterday. It was more solid that I expected. The camera seemed to track nicely. I thought the RED's weight would pose a challenge but all seemed well. I am a little curious as to the handling when the track is on less than ideal floors - but still - I may pick one up.

The Indie Dolly is great. I purchased it 2 NABs ago. They have continually upgraded, refined and improved the product and I have successfully used the product in many situations. When I stopped by to say hello I asked about the Sachtler tripod mounts that they had been working on for some time (the mounts that come with the Indie Dolly are for their own tripod). It was as if they were waiting for me to arrive and gave them to me on the spot. Their new improvements to this inexpensive yet quality product are great. I suggest anyone in the market for a portable dolly solution check out the Indie Dolly.

This is a great product. Had it a little over a year now and even had two people riding it with full camera set up no problem. Also works great with Douglas Underdahls seven jib ( http://www.longvalleyequip.com/sevenjib.php). Great little set up. Will post pics once red gets in if anyone is interested.

I have some pretty rockin' footage I'm going to upload tomorrow, hopefully... I've been super busy on a shoot since I got back from NAB.

For those of you who didn't make it, they were also demo'ing a prototype for the new "pneumatic lift" for the dolly - it was awesome.

I also played with this dolly at NAB this year. I was quite impressed actually. Would consider buying this myself...well, I probably will because of how much I liked it. Very compact and easy to move/setup.

My only complaint about indie dolly is the case. Everything else is great. Can push 2 people on that thing with barely any effort.
