What happened to it, I didn't get to hear about it anymore???????? Has red india been scrapped or is it still happenning?????

Definitely still happening, we are in the set up and planning stages now, will update more when there is news to report.

That is the best thing RED is launching in INDIA. No more Indian customs hassle and buy the stuff hassle free directly from RED. I will be buying some more EPICS as they launch in India. Cant wait!

i guess this event was the reason why i didnt see much of these acclaimed cinematographers/directors not turning up for the reducation chennai event.....happy that most of these cinematographers has shifted to red.....saw thandavam making few days ago.....i think nirav shah is going to do one of his best works....

No Davis,

We started very early with Red and infact Chennai is the first in country to shot in Red for first time and first few cameras are all purchased from chennai by Real Image Media Technologies & Nirav Shah (DOP). Chennai is currently producing more tamil feature films in entire country of India with percentage ration of 70% films being shot on digital either in Epic / Red ONe / Arri Alexa and few in Sony F65.

Main reason for DOPs not attending Red Event is we now more enough to shoot and produce content. :)

Not 90% 2K Digital Projection. More than 95 of Digital Projection are E-Cinema projection from UFO, QUBE & PXD.

Only 10% is 2K Digital Projection and its changing faster as more Hollywood 3D contents are only distributed in 2K DCP and not provided for e-cinema.

yup definitely agree chennai has become the hub of digital cinema production in india and real image is one of the pioneers....reducation in chennai was a great learning experience for starters like me and while working in movies in mumbai i feel bollywood is yet to take that fully digital leap unlike the south movies......although tigmanshu dhulia doing an f65 film(saheb biwi and gangster 2) after an alexa and an red feature might be an exception....

does pxd provide 2k projection anywhere in india...??? and is there a 4k release of any movie coming in any 4k projection ready centres in india...i think there are only 2 or 3 centres.....people are shooting full 4k and 5k features in red and none of them has been released in 4k over here......really shameful.....even reducation chennai couldnt afford a 4k projection....:nonod:

PXD & UFO still offers e-cinema. Except Scrabble which was taken over by UFO which runs on 2K Projection. 4K Digital CInema Projection is there in Bangalore, Vishakapatinam, Chennai & Madurai.

Bhag Milka Bhag starring Farhan Akhtar is shot using four Red EPICs.
