  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How's the camera?
Are there any dutch projects that you are working on?
I know there are a lot of Red's in Holland as we speak but I don't see any big projects already planned with it.

How did the delivery process worked out, in relation to import duties and overal delivery?

camera is pretty good, I am used to film so I see it's flaws but for price/performance it is outstanding. It is not for the faint at heart. Ill be shooting a big (50 days) drama series for the NPS this summer about hiphop on it. It is damn heavy.... More like a arri 535 or moviecam.... Most big projects are withdrawn for reasons of workflow, however my postguys (avp) are very much involved in developing teh workflow (they beta test scratch), and so is "de loods"and "het raam" But right now we are pretty much on our own. Somebody has to do it. Delivey was flawless and fast, I paid like a couple of hundreds for import duties (and Vat ofcourse)

Don't tell me there is a RED so close to me, is your company near entrepotdok?
Anyways, did you mean to say that besides the couple of hundred you paid 19% vat, because I read somewhere that it all depends on how you describe the product

Yes, I think they charged less than a percent (i don't have the papers on me ) maybe just luck, but probably red describes it so well, that it is not gonna cost you an arm and a leg...(in al more than 3400 euros including vat, basepack and charger and 2 batteries, no lcd)

no i don't have a company near entrepotdok, I am just a freelance DoP..

there are 6 reds for rental as we speak, call camalot (however I think they are al out today.....) they have 5....
 
We have our RED too :)

We do not rent out our gear as a package, but we are of course interested in hearing from other (potential) users and buyers around. Especially if you wish to get us involved in the coolest project ever. And of course also to help each other out in case of trouble or breakdown of a RED camera, when schedules are tight.

We are located in Zeeland, the Netherlands.

Same here dont plan on renting but would happily be part of a back up network.
What is the coolest project ever? I got one too coming up hehe!

Same here, I'm based in Noord Brabant. Maybe we can meet sometime.
 
Yeah, I unfortunately missed the IBC reduser event.
I am looking forward to receiving my red, ive paid and awaiting tracking number.
Ive been waiting for this day for ages, and the camera will be shipped when I'm in the jungle for 3 weeks. Its gonna be hard concentrating, whilst I know red is at home.

What jungle are you sipping coffee in, in your avatar Johan?

And if you can give us a daily price and a price for the whole week that would be great, and remember we are only renting the equipment, and we have a skilled DI & DP tech that will be with us, so we don't need a DP or a person to come with this package.
