  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED in RAin City? Seattle WA USA?

Any one interested in pre-camera meet up in early July on Capitol Hill? I'm swamped this month and going to be out of town a bit but so far I'm pretty free in July.

Vita is a good place for coffee. It's between 10th and 11th on Pike St.

I have a friend that lives nearby that works at Harborview that would love to meet some other Redites. He currently owns more cameras than I can count (8mm, 16mm, 35mm, 65mm, etc) but is considering getting a Red.
 
Count me in for a Seattle gathering if you do it on the weekends of July 14-15 or 21-22. I'll be up there for a bachelor party and wedding, respectively (both on Saturday night).

Vita sounds good. I went there last weekend for some coffee, great place.
 
Chazmo, we'll try and work it out for one of those weekends.

Casey, maybe I saw you... Vita is my ghetto editing suite. The director and I take turns with the headphones...
 
Either July weekend is fine, but please either morning or evening; not smack in the middle of the day.

I'm training for a 435 mile bike ride that starts August 4th with two of my kids, and I'm going to be riding probably 70+ miles both days those weekends, so if it's a middle of the day meet, I can't come. I imagine there are other folks who don't want to set aside their whole day's schedule to this either.

Breakfast or early evening would be great. *smiles*

I'm from Portland, OR, too. Moved to Los Angeles now but the first feature I intend to shoot will be in Portland, back at home.

a) If we need to adjust the time a little, say so. Otherwise, 8:30 - 10 am.

b) I'm starting us this early, so people can have the day for, well, for having their day. Don't know about y'all, but I've got stuff to do. *grins*

c) Also, keeping the meeting proper to 90 minutes. That's plenty of time to do whatever we're going to do as a group. Everyone who wants to can hang out afterwards, swap phone numbers and stuff. I probably will myself, but short meetings make for happy meetings.

People can't get all the way over to Seattle by 8:30am. Bump it up to noon and maybe people will be able to show up.
 
I'm definitely in, but I think 8:30 might be a little early also, especially for the Portlanders. Plus, it might be nice if at least one bar was open when the meeting was over.:usd:

edit: first time i've ever used a smiley. EVER. don't plan on doing it again for a while.

If I'm in Seattle that day I'll definitely be there!

I have a long list of people wanting to rent REDs around the country so if anyone is interested in that let me know.

We have 2 REDs on order and deadmike is part of our company as well so his will be rented out when he's not using it. The demand is going to be very high for low numbered REDs so you may be able to make some dough back in the first few months.
 
A slow spring leads to coffee.... What not Starbucks the NW Icon... you want your coffee unburned? Would make sense if we all shared E mails so we could make a plan better as I for one don't come here all the time....Totally OK with Capitol Hill but the parking sucks and I don't wanna ride three busses. I live in the Alki Area. Why don't we all meet at the beach,,,, how LALA is that!!!
