I'm pleased to announce that we made the front cover of the April edition of Video Alpha magazine along with a five page article on both the camera and us as a company:

Hi Paul, seems like you've pretty much taken over Japan! Well if you ever need another Red/English to Japanese translator, look no further. Got family over there too... Keep posting those images:)

Kenji, I'll send you an email offline as we're getting the Birger mount for use with my Canon SLR glass.

Koa, I don't know about "taken over" :) but since we're the pioneers here we want to provide the full package to make sure the Red experience is as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Of course we have the advantage of being native English speakers too so we can usually get the information first as it appears here even when wading through a 1000 posts a day!! But we have Japanese staff too, making us a bilingual company here for those who don't speak English (I can speak a little Japanese right now but not enough to get by unassisted, though film language tends to be universal so it's not too big an issue luckily).

It's Hanami this weekend so we'll have some Sakura shots up soon with any luck.

Cheers!

Paul

chosei-san,
Thank you.
I want to report having got my redone #1570, but writing in English is too difficult for me.
But I can take a picture.
Please look!

I love your setting, I was shooting yesterday.
I'm 54 years old, it got me the weigh.

こりゃ、やっぱりオペレーションは若い人に任せます。

The rates you offer are for non-Japanese who wish to use the RED in Japan right ?

I just have a little experience that I have known Japanese for more than 20+ years in the Broadcast and post industries.

I sold Sxxy , Ikegami, Panasonic, JVC to many customers in ASIA in the
past.

Ted and I just finished delivering joint presentations in Asia over the past 2 weeks. We did 3 days at KOFIC in Seoul, then a day at Hualong in Beijing. We parted ways at that point... Ted is spending another month in Asia.

I just did a presentation yesterday in Tokyo for Seika. Seika is also the authorized representative for SCRATCH-CINE in Japan. Seika joins Hoei Sangyo as our two partners in Japan.

The presentation I gave was sold out - about 150 production and post professionals from all over Tokyo were gracious enough to take time out of their day to come hear a presentation on SCRATCH, SCRATCH-CINE, and RED workflow.

Please contact Maki-san at Seika in Tokyo or Choy-san at TJC in Osaka for additional information regarding SCRATCH-CINE in Japan.

Best Regards,

Lucas Wilson

Hi Lucas, sorry I couldn't make it on Friday but I was on a shoot in Okayama.

Chosei, Seika aren't Red agents as Red don't have any, but they are selling Element Technica accessories as well as Scratch etc.

Cheers,

Paul

Just took delivery of our second Red One here in Tokyo, along with our EVF, so now we can do multi-cam shoots if anyone needs it as well as two separate rentals per day, or backup options.

Should have Redrock MicroMatteboxes for each next week also which will be included with the kit for no extra cost.

Cheers,

Paul
