RED HD Workflow Guide For Small Production Companies
If you are one of the following, please get in touch with me as I begin the process of laying out a comprehensive guide for small production companies using RED in conjunction with off the shelf products such as Final Cut Pro, Redcine/Red Alert, etc.
1. Highly established colorist with a lot of experience with Red footage and HD deliverables
2. A person highly skilled in video engineering and calibrating facilities of all types
3. A person with a lot of experience with RAIDS, in particular DIY configurations.
4. A compression expert, someone who is able to explain in detail various codecs, how they hold up during color correction, etc.
This guide will be aimed at HD deliverable only, no film out. It's for those who are working on commercials, corporate, music video, documentary, stock footage, and independent film with modest to low budgets, who cannot afford the high end tools. It will use case studies, with very explicit instructions on how the workflow is carried out. The goal is to make it very thorough.
This will not solve everyone's workflow issues, but it is intended to address a lot of the major ones.
Those who would like to contribute in the capacities mentioned above, please PM me or provide contact info.
And due to the nature of things moving quickly in terms of firmware upgrades, new software tools, etc one of the other important facets of this would be to update the guide (which will be in digital format anyway) on a fairly regular basis.
Thanks!
