Ok, I`m trying to compile imformation about the red one, something like a quick guide (for al the newbies out there like me) that contains all information and tips required from preproduction (seting up and tuning the camera correctly depending on the situation), to postproduction.

For example, Im starting a production next month and I`ll be "camera Assistant" and I`ll be doing on set editing, So I would like to know the workflow for quick backup and editing.

Thanks to all in Advanced :construction:

I don't yet have my cameras, so cannot give any first hand experience. But from what I've gathered from observing on this forum for more than a year, there is no one answer. There are so many ways of using the camera and then doing post on the footage that there simply is no one correct path to follow.

Just pick your path and find someone who seems to be going in the same direction and hang on to their coattails. Other than that, there's not much help I can offer.

Thanks, I`m aware of that...

What I want, is to compile all the information on reduser on one thread (sort of), and then if I can, or someone else`s can do it, to translate it to a parallel page with menu, and easier access for some information... To let`s say, you are in the middle of a shot and your camera wont boot (seems to have happened to some people), so you can go to that page and access the menu to find a quick posible solution to your problem.

I hope I`m not the only one who wants to find clear and quick information for all kinds of scenarios.... :shifty:

Admirable goal but I think there are so many FAQs and other threads on this one it seems kinda ill-advised to open up yet another

Well, I`m aiming for just a Database, not another forum.
Clear and simple information, not open for debate, sometimes it hard to find some information on the threads..... And another times is hard to get to the point of a thread......

Anyway, if anyone wants to help me gatther all sort of information (about the red), and know how to create a webpage with submenus... PM me...

I get what you're asking for, similar to a military lowest common denominator checklist/troubleshooting guide for equipment.

My suggestion to accomplish this would be to start a thread/topic in the troubleshooting section for each aspect you'd like to include ie. "Checklist/Guide: BOOT HANG" and then let folks post their step by step "If>then" suggestions. Then filter the responses into an efficient numbered order for each topic you are interested in. Unless there's a ton, then perhaps you should just list the topics you'd like to have covered in this thread and have folks pm/email you their suggested checklist for each situation to keep clutter down in the forums. If you'd like an actual example of how the military checklist works, let me know.

So THAT's what they call it now... In my day it was just SOP, or Standard Operating Procedure. I don't think I could wrap my head around today's military.:) Oh, in case you haven't heard it yet today... gudjob!

Ha! It's really just a "check-list", but they're so simple and effective geared to "lowest common denominator" in design. I have to have a checklist on me when I fly that covers all the equipment that I interact with so I figure that's what he was aiming at, some thing easy to flip through to find the information when you need it the quickest and study when you can.

Ok, perfect, that`s what I wanted! I`ve already made some changes!

Now, If veryone so kind of posting any info that could work, I would be really greatful!

redwiki.org

Ok, I have been editing the redwiki.org webpage (hope nobody mind). I have put the information I have gatthered so far, so if anyone wants to take a look, or contribute adding info on their own or simply modify erroneous or outdated information, that would be very helpfull.

Its up to us to keep a page like that for quick find info, guide, tips and troubleshooting when we need it, as simple and clear as posible.

So, I encourage everyone to add a piece of knowledge as you have been doing on this forum.
