Hi guys,

I'll be doing quite a bit of aerial filming for an engineering company over the next few months and these guys asked me if it is somehow possible to incorporate GPS data into the footage.

I wanted to see if anyone has done this before or can recommend anything. Is there a way to pair a GPS device with the RED and embed GPS data or geotaging into the metadata of the camera ?

I will have access to all the navigation systems the helicopter pilots will be using, so I could get the data from them somehow i guess.

thanks.

Best way is to get one of the cheap GPS data loggers that take a CF card and sync the time on camera to match. Then you'll have time of day GPS data you can sync with the images.

There's no way I know of to put GPS data into the Red One. Hopefully Epic will support GPS data input though through its Gig-E interface....

HTH
