Hey guys
My crew droped Gemini in water tank half way through. Opened all possibles parts out and drying out under the fan. planning to leave like this for couple of days. what should I do after this? any suggestion will help. thx

Send it in to RED for an evaluation.

Crucial questions:
Was it powered up when it got wet?

Even if powered down, residue and contaminants will need to be cleaned from individual components.

Good luck!

On a shoot a few years back, we fully submerged a Red Epic Dragon in a freshwater lake in England. A waterproof housing failed and the camera, follow focus and wireless video transmission, lenses and all accessories were fully submerged.

The Red was placed in a bowl with hundreds of packs of silica gel, with some balled up newspaper and some rice. We didn't touch the camera for at least 3 full days and nights. After this, it switched on and worked perfectly. Incredible engineering.

However, the wireless kit was boned, and our luck was likely due to the water being fresh (not saltwater which is a corrosive).

Should say, the Red was powered on and mid shot during its submersion, and after it was dried out - the Minimag still worked and showed the footage of the final shot which made it into the edit.

Put the brain in an airtight container (Lock 'n Lock) together with a lot of strong humidity absorber packs for several days, I hope it wasn't saltwater!
