In the beginning, some said that RED was a scam. Now some say that RED is a one trick wonder. I have said that "the 1st is the worst".

So which is it? Is RED likely to last?

I guess this post is to say that we have more in development than we know what to do with. Our sensor program (the heart of a camera company) is way beyond my wildest expectations. We have stuff in the works that would scare you. I am shocked. Every day I wake up, the realities of what we dreamed are becoming a reality... and more. It is pretty surreal. EPIC (a nuclear reactor in a matchbox) is just the beginning. Hard to believe... but true.

Obsolescence obsolete. All the things we are doing forward work with what we are doing now. That was the concept. That is real today.

I thought I saw the future in 2005 when the decision to build the RED ONE was conceived. I also thought that was a big plan. While I guess it was... I see a much more advanced future now. Stay tuned. We have just warmed up the engine.

Jim

Go for it !!! 2011 is again the year when RED is changing everything in the industry... You started the rocket and its flying and flying....
I hope you will get the technical Oscar this year... can't wait to hold the EPIC in hands...

Hey Jim... you sound like the digital cinema Obama! :)
Great speech!

How cute. =)

So has NASA talked to you guys? Imagine them rigging up a new space telescope with 300+ Mysterium sensors, but then again you guys would need a regular spacesuit and a XXL spacesuit so you guys can go service it.

I'm not one to usually comment on this forum... but from what I can tell RED is quickly becoming the future of digital cinema technology. This year will truly be EPIC...

Thanks Jim & Red Team!

As a red owner I always appreciate Red can provide me a professional camera but the best price compare to those few BIG com, this is not the only reason to make peoples planning to buy the products, the most important thing is Red Do Respect their customer, know how to take care of them, as human this pretty touching heart, cause you'll never have kind of same servicing from those BIG COM.

Sorry for my poor English if you can't get what I feel. I just wanna share some of my personal experienced. And I pretty enjoy using my RED CAM for most of my shooting projects...

Await for my Epic-X coming for further Feature Film shooting...

Cheers & Happy New Year to all of you

Personally, I have no problem with RED monopolizing the entire image making market. FINALLY a company in the pulse of social media that operates with pure passion. Everytime I see Ted I smile just because he's always oozing with excitement and passion!

Jim I hope you and everyone at RED knows just how meaningful it is for us to be able to communicate directly with you all (I know we'll be saying this forever).

For the vision not to have been lost all this time, and to frankly have surpassed the original vision with a sort of natural evolution that other tech companies still don't grasp, is why many of us are here.

I'll agree that RED is a tool and that many other options exist, but it's a tool that affords me the opportunity to attain the images I seek without compromise. I still have folks approach me on sets and ask why I've chosen RED or to upgrade to Epic over other cameras, and my answer is always the same. Evolution and communication. I leave it at that. People want to argue, some (literally) make fun of my choice or reason (a new one I heard the other day on a major show (from a sound assistant who looked at the production mixer and huffed), "rather dead than RED").

I used to look for opportunities to jump in and defend or offer explanation, but I think RED finally has the foothold where the images will speak for themselves. And really, that's a much preferred alternative. No huffing, no defense - the art is there. Proven!

Thanks guys!

this was kinda leading to my next question...is there an update on MONSTRO? I remember, well about a year ago that you mentioned it was another 12 months down the track. A lot has been happening since then but you just happened to mention sensor's here so i figured...could we maybe be looking at a 2011 monstro brain release?

Monstro will scare the competition... not to me

Monstro will scare the competition... not to me

Monstro sensor will scare you !

Monstro will scare the crap out of sony and the gang. they will run from it. when we will run to it.
Thank you Jim and Team for making such a dream come true and standing up to the big guys.

Thank you so much, Red company!

btw, when will you start manufacturing electro-vehicles? I guess 800mile range on one charge (taking 4hrs total), 190mph, 0-60 in 1.9second with chassis of Escalade-class might be enough for this year.

I cant agree more.

These other camera makers that have monopolized the market for years have not taken care of its customer. Red is leaping a head in technical achievements and looking to the future for the next coming advancements (modularity).

Bravo Jim and the Red team.

Always tuned in, Jim. Now, how soon can we hear more about it....
