RED freezes upon hitting STOP

REDRAID drive (orig 320GB)

hit record. everything looks normal. then when we hit the start/stop button to stop, the camera says the "posting data...." message and freezes with that message.

We have had to power down the camera to be able to record again.

We are shooting on CF cards for the time being.

Any specific solution to that freezing problem? We think it has to do with that specific drive, because we don't have that problem with our other drive.

Has the card been used much? They can lose life, people are starting to treat them as consumables.

the RED hard drive has a few hundred hours on it. The drive is original. from April 2008.

Do you ever get Playback Sata errors? If so, RED will fix it quick and cheaply!

How long is the take?

I am assuming you understand that you can avoid the post data message if you turn proxies off. This means that you have to generate your QT proxies after, but the delay is due to the camera writing the QT proxies.

On a 4 minute take this can take as long as about 12 seconds. Longer takes, take longer to post.
