Several interested buyers have asked me questions about the package that indicate I need to add some general information about this particular camera model:
1. The 6K Dragon sensor in this camera is the same sensor technology in the current Scarlet-W 5K brain. Except you get the added benefit of 6K and a bigger chip=wider field of view closer to the 8k Helium sensor. For me this is a no-brainer choice over the Scarlet-W since this camera sits between the Scarlet-W and Helium in quality.
2. The camera records to RED Mini-mags (not included), just like the current DSMC2 cameras.
3. The camera is compatible with any RED touch LCD screen (not included). You just need the correct cable--the camera has a large LEMO input. For legacy screens like the 5", you'll need a lemo-to-lemo cable. For any of the new LCDs you'll need a LEMO-to-POGO cable available from Wooden Camera and others.
4. The camera has built-in HD-SDI OUT, HEADPHONES OUT, TC IN-OUT, REMOTE IN, and DC-IN, so no need for any module unless you need something beyond those ports.
5. The audio A-BOX provides phantom power through the XLR outs (this feature was removed from the DSMC2 cameras). Very useful in certain circumstances.
