Last night my EPIC X #382 has been stolen from our house. It was in a hardcase, including touch LCD, Bomb EVF, 6x battery, 2x travel charger, 1x 256GB card, side SSD, DSMC side handle, Redmote, AC power, Ti Canon mount, Redmag SSD 1,8, Action Products EPIC 15mm Rodmount Audio, Action Products Riser 'Calypso'.

If anybody gets any offers, please contact me info@tomvantorre.be

Please spread this message.

Many thanks

Ouch! Sorry to hear that Tom!!

I've send an email to Chris at RED. Since it's the weekend, I suppose it will take a couple of days before I hear from them.
If you or anybody hears anything about this, that could be of great help.

Tom,

I will touch base with Chris and make sure our system reflects the camera is stolen.

Hope your able to recover it.

Regards,

Tom, I hope you recover it. That's terrible!!!

Can you tell us anything more about the crime? Do you think the thieves knew you had a camera? Were other things stolen?

They also took a Canon 5d II, Zeiss lenses, some juwels and a macbookpro. I don't know if they knew what they were taking. I don't think it was a ordered theft, I guess it just looked expensive so they took it.
My only hope at the moment is, that they will not be able to sell the epic, leave it somewhere and somebody finds it. Not much to hold on to at the moment.
Thanks for the support here, please keep spreading the message and let me know if anyone hears something somewhere.
Much appreciated.

This is why we need a GPS and pin upgrade like Timur suggested. It would be able to catch the idiots and dissuade the "envious" or the "in the know " thieves. Everyone out there in the know would know the Epic/Scarlet would not be able to be used if stolen and be traceable, and the idiots would be caught. EDIT- Hope you get your camera back soon!

yeah, the problem is it needs a constant energy source and a way to communicate. I guess you could rig something with a wifi transmitter instead of cellurar (cell be so much more disruptive to certain speakers, recording devices etc.) and have it log on to a unlocked source around it and broadcast it's current location. But this would have to happen within a day unless you rigged it to feed off the red batteries after it uses up it's own battery.

Just no easy answer.
