Are there any rigs that can fly a Red One? Most only seem to hold 10-15lbs that I've read. Thanks for your time.

Awesome shots btw!!!!

Hi Jason,

We have flown the R1 on these rigs but I don't care for the way they handle with all the weight out on the nose of the heli. We are currenty testing a new design that will fix this issue and will have no problem carrying the R1 with a prime lens and Red bricks.

Greetings!

I am very interested in incorporating some aerial's into upcoming projects, but am still a little confused with regards to the legality of UAV's with commercial work etc. I would love to pick your brain a bit and figure out how to get you or some of your team onto a future project.

Jason,

I hope I was able to answer all your questions. Here are some specs on our Red rigs:

Flight time - 30 minutes (with 5 lb. glass, side handle and HD downlink)
Airspeed - 55 mph forward, 40 mph sideways and reverse
Range - 1000 ft (line of sight)

You answered all of em and a few I hadn't thought of (but should have)
Thanks for your time, I'm hoping we can get you guys out for something in the near future

Sounds good.

Here is an example of an Epic shoot using Leica glass where no post stabilization was used. This is what our typical footage would look like - sans post stab. We have found that about 1 - 3% warp takes away all the minute residual movements leaving perfectly smooth footage, but many are fine without it, such as this case.

Jason,

An update on your question about flying the R1. We just completed initial flight testing of a new super heavy lift rig that easily carried 25 lbs. so the R1, two Epics, Phantom or even the portly Alexa are all doable.

Thanks,
