Does anyone know of a camera back that can fit a fully assembled Epic/Scarlet?

By fully assembled I mean the minimal set-up:

Brain w/ side SSD
Side Handle
5" touch LCD (preferably space for the Outrigger handle)
SSD inserted
One lens (either attached or not but it has to have enough room for at least one)
Redmote (not a must but it doesn't take up much space so yeah...)
Extra space for Redvolts

I want to be able to pull my camera out and start shooting in some settings.
It gets annoying having to spend the couple minutes to fix my LCD to the brain.
By that time I could have missed an awesome moment!

I keep my Epic assembled in a Tamrac Extreme backpack (I think it's a model 767).
1. I don't keep the lens attached - don't want to risk damage to the body or lens in transit. It fits in the bag just fine.
2. My LCD is on a cinelock (mini dovetail from 16x9) - I like to keep it well padded in transit, and it's super-convenient to mount/unmount

It takes less than a minute to snap on the monitor, plug in the LCD cable, mount a lens, and pop a Redvolt into the sidehandle. I've used this as a carry-on (sometimes have to take the camera out going through security though). Not as sturdy as a Pelican, but more compact and you can wear it on your back.

Cheers,
Tim

Lens, redvolts, charger, LCD, and rig are each in their own section. Wooden top handle, side handle, and RedMote stay attached.

Cheers,
Tim

Hey Nik-
Am in the same boat! Have been all over the "map" trying to figure the best carry-all solution for my Scarlet package and you know? there isn't really just ONE.
gads.
But I have recently been going down the same path as you, wanting at least ONE packaging option that is more of a quick-draw, camera-ready bag. If I can let go of the TSA/airline fitment restriction (like I say, maybe we need 2 types of bags?) and concentrate on my local shooting (as in, out of the car, rather than the plane) then I have a suggestion:

I dragged all my gear to the local camera store on Sat and tried the

LowelPro Magnum 650AW

I took pix with my kit but damned if I can find them, sorry! But here is the deal.
My Scarlet has the RED Top Handle and a base and top plates, a fairly typical set-up. So this is 10" top-to-bottom. The Magnum is 11", so we are in the ball park for a "zip-open-the-top-and-grab-your-camera-rig-and-roll" scenario. As you will see if you check out this bag on the LowelPro site, it is essentially a box with padded sides and customizable dividers inside.
Pretty typical photo-gear stuff. But I did manage to nicely configure the Scarlet set up like this:
-plates and handle as mentioned
-6" front 15mm rails and Tok 11-16 mounted (rails protect Tokina so I am good with that)
-Woodedcamera V-Brick mount on the Rear, with 150wt battery attached
-BOMB attached
-sidehandle attached
So - basically, ready to open-grab-and -go.
It all fit nicely with compartmented dividers around the camera. Room for 70-200 (sitting upright), PIX240 recorder in a small pelican box, another 150wt battery, and my shoulder pad. Each divided and separate.
And, there is a front zip-open external compartment that my SHAPE handles assy sits in).
The case even has a sleeve on the rear that allows it to slip over your luggage handle and rest on your suitcase. I guess you could even get creative and buy a small airport dolly and just drop the bag via the sleeve over the dolly's handle and you have a fairly portable grab bag - assuming it meets overhead-specs for planes.

It really is just a big square-ish bag so I would not want to be traipsing all over with it on my shoulder, but if a quick-draw is what you after then this is the sort of thing you might want to look at.

--------
AND
I will agree also with Dominick re: the KATA Beetle 282 - I have also test-driven this and, as a back-pack alternate it is a really nice bag!! Really torn here. BUT, I cannot see you being able to have the camera assembled to the degree the MAGNUM allows. For eg I think it would be risky/impossible to keep an LCD or BOMB attached. The pack just doesn't have the Depth to permit this. But it WILL hold all the same stuff, altho mostly detached And unless you get a really monsterous backpack, this will continue to be a problem.
pic attached with SOME of my kit inside.
This is a REALLY nice backpack about $200 on Amazon.

Frankly, If I had the coin I would get BOTH of these and reserve the Beetle for my plane-trips. It will hold as much stuff as the MAGNUM, but not in a quick-draw configuration.

there is so much empty space for other equipment and lenses love this bag so much :)

Hey Nick

Wasn't sure if your after a backpack sort of bag or more an over the shoulder bag. So here's mine , this ain't a hiking bag, I call this my van bag. I wouldn't travel with it on airlines in this bag (I have other options for that ) but for around town sort a stuff its fine, semi rigid & I can be up & shooting in about 30 secs. As you asked for everything fits no stuffing around.

Apologies for pic quality rainy day, available light & I phone 3 never a good mix.

Thanks Mike and Stu for the pictures!

I realized that I didn't post an example of what I would want.
Here's the style of bag I'm looking for:

http://www.tamrac.com/5770.htm

I want to be able to carry it like that. Only requirements are basic setup w/ screen attached.
Also extra batteries.

Its looking like there may not be such a thing!

Thx Pat & Mike - obv more skilled on the Internet Hunt than I!
No US rep it seems...

Nik-
well, if you can settle for a LARGER bag than the Tamrac shown, you will be OK. Physics is working against our Kitted-Out Scarlets and this type of bag.
Don't think anyone has conceptualized a quick-pull for a Scarlet-esq camera yet, unless you go to the med-full size video-camera bags like PortaBrace makes.
Have you looked there? I have. Nothing Scarlet Specific (yet) but betw you and an measuring tape maybe you'll strike Gold??

Or maybe NAB will reveal something??

I think other manufacturers stepping up with more modular cameras will drive the bag/case market eventually, but for now we pay the price of being Pioneers lads!

Search continues for me too.

I came to NAB to look for just a bag.

This is the one I m getting after finger f@cking it on the show floor.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/686601-REG/Petrol_PC004_Deca_Dr_Bag_4.html

It has a form factor that will fit a fully loaded dsmc camera with side handle, evf, touch monitor and most any modules you may add later.

Really well made, has a strip of LEDs inside that light up so you can find your stuff in low light conditions.

And it is a great price too.
