  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED EPIC-M #892 STOLEN FROM ADORAMA RENTAL CO!! (NYC)

http://www.tracking-system.com/silvercloud-gps-tracking.html

This is called Silver Cloud Tracking. You can use it for personal items, and there is a monthly fee with a certain refresh rate. Would have to also make sure you have the battery charged at all times. This should give you the edge on finding those who stole your equipment.

i've seen a few gps trackers that would fit in a redvolt. If you open a redvolt take, the battery out, and place a tracker, and put that in your side handle, chances are a thief is not going to notice it that fast... or you can just place a tracker in side handle, would also work, but when a thief opens it, he will see it immediately...

This is exactly what i was going to do. Im going to experiment over the next few months to see what i can come up with.

It would be nice if we could install a small lo-jack type of system into these cameras. The one they used in Mission Impossible 2 was less than the size of a grain of rice. Although, that's probably not real.

Wouldn't it be easy to make all future versions of REDCINE X note the serial number in the metadata and report back to RED via the internet if a stolen camera pops up?

Might be an easier way. Could track someone via ip address right?
