I haven't had any experience with the Epic, and was wondering about 35mm lenses working with the epic at 5k. Since the sensor is 5k and 35mm lenses are made for the 35mm format or 4k is a 16 or 18mm lens able to capture everything at 5k?

Focal lengths do not determine if they are capable of covering a sensor. If you are comparing lenses designed to cover a full frame in the photography world, then yes, those will cover a the RED 5k sensor.

As said, still full frame lens (canon lens) will cover the whole 5K sensor.
For cinema lens, it varies. Even the RED zoom vignettes aa little when zoomed out.

Hi Guys, could you suggest me, the 35mm Zeiss lens can works for Red MX 4.5? Someone try to use but it doesn't work, it comes black steps on left and right corner. Is there any settings? Hoping yours suggestion.
