RED DSMC2 OLED EVF Loose

Hello,

I just acquired a RED DSMC2 EVF, and I was wondering if there was any way to tighten the mount that attaches between the EVF and DSMC2 brain. The EVF is loose and just hangs instead of staying in place.

Yes! The black ring that tightens the EVF was cranked all the way to the left (counter-clockwise), so the EVF stayed loose. I finally was able to loosen the black ring and tighten it clockwise. So now the EVF is able to stay in place.

I'm having the same problem on a fairly new Red Monstro. I can't loosen or tighten. Once I mount the EVF and tighten the red knob to the EVF and then mount to camera brain, then turn the black knob, it just turns the entire EVF. I can certainly understand why it is doing this because when you take off the evf from the mount, the pin that goes into the evf mount turns with the black knob. If it wasn't turning, the evf would stay in place. So Im confused.
