Hi guys,

Am i right in thinking the Red drives are only compatible with Mac book pro's? A production company want to use a windows laptop to transfer data but as iv'e only ever used Mac book pro's to do so i'm not sure about it.

Thanks,
Simon.

Red Drives have a USB port, FW 400 port, and a FW800 port. They are also Formatted fat32 from the camera.

Be sure to use a Drive power supply as some PC's will blow the Firewire port if trying to use bus power

You should ALWAYS use the power adapter, no matter what type of system you are connecting them to.

The drives are compatible with just about any system you care to hook them too. PC, Mac, Linux, etc..

It's mainly harmful to your pocket when you spend £210 to replace the firewire board when the ports get blown. (which has happened on 6 of mine).

"Always use the power pack and don't dry hire to people who don't use the power pack"

- my recent favorite motto.

The FW800 port on my iMac is just fine, but both the FW800 ports on the RedDrives don't work anymore... any idea's? USB ports are still good...

Can we create a wikipedia style manual for the RED ONE and its workflow ... the RED ONE ships with zero documentation.
Maybe on this board there could be a moderated "help file" created that answers all the RED ONE questions or Noah could write "volume two".

Please which particular power adapter are you referring to in the RED store. Does the power adapter come with the camera body or do one have to buy it separately.
