  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

found on red store that those drives Currently on backorder…

i had reserved 2 of them will i receive them with my cam

if i order one more will i receive it with my cam this month ?
 
I received one with my camera 2 days ago, so if you're close to 1853 I'd guess that you probably would. If not, it's possible that you'll get one with your camera and then have to wait to them to catch up other people before they send you the others.

Yes, I was told the same thing yesterday by my Rep : Red drives are on back order.
I had ordered 3 and no CF (was hoping I could wait until the 16 GB CF cards come out), so I hope they'll be able to send at least one with my order.
I didn't get an answer yet regarding how long it will be before they catch up on this.

Batteries are also in limited supply, they won't ship more than 4 per order at this time.

Actually, untill you start shooting, it's hard to imagine why you won't shoot cards whenever possible. And the 8GB limit makes for very organized projects straight out of shoot. I didn't really grasp this untill I had my cam, but now I'll order 10 more 8 GB cards....
 
Yes, Gunleik, you're probably right.

But still, it hurts to buy 8 GB CF cards now, knowing very well that in a few weeks / months, there will be 16 GB cards, probably at a similar price point...
And I know of a lot of situations where I will need longer recording times, or where I won't be able to transfer the cards during the shoot.

Well, in 1 or 2 years when 64+ GB cards are available for the same price, we'll probably be laughing about all these 'issues'...:)

hummm ... i was thinking the same thing last Dec ... now, 6 months later ?? no 16 gigs CF's to be found !! ... the 3 8gigs cards i did buy last Dec have come in very handy ....
i haven't heard of any 16gigs CF's that are "almost" here either ...
 
I'm at #3327, please pretend to give me some hope! With the great compression of RED ONE, I'm happy now. I'll be satisfied with CF cards of almost any value, just let me edit them more efficiently!
 
Yeah, I think 16+ gig cards are a big question mark right now, I don't believe anyone is close to the final stages of releasing anything. If RED has something up their sleeve, they're wearing a super good poker face about it :/

Well, I guess I'll really need those drives then...

In the meantime, what I would really love would be to receive my camera soon, even if I have to use only CF cards for a few weeks... Pleaaase.... :whistling:

It is clear that Build 16 v3.2.1 has some problems with CF CARDs
how ? we can work with only CF CARDs
in RAID DRIVE STILL not available or on backorders
RED please we need that drives or fix :construction: the issue with Build 16 v3.2.1 related with cf cards ..
