so you know that power adapter that you use to plug in the RED drives?

Well I left mine in another country and am here in LA looking for one.

Does anyone have one I can borrow for the next 2 weeks? or know what the exact specs are? current/size etc... I should have a generic one that could fit right?

It's 12V/1500mA, 2.2mm plug, outside is -, interior is +.

Did you know that if you use the Firewire cable the drive is powered from the computer and you do not need the power adapter at all?

ah! ok thank you. I will see what I can find....

ya the firewire800 thing... there are several reduser threads going on about it right now. RED is basically saying not to power the drive with just the firwire800....

so any power adapter that is 12v and 1500mA should work fine right?

Well, I once plugged accidentally another 12V power adapter and it worked just fine. Let's put it this way, the drive will not know which label the adapter is as long as the voltage is the same and the adapter is capable to provide the adapter with enough current, that is, with enough power.

Didn't know one should not power the drive with FW800.
