FYI pretty much all of these violate Red's trademark. Nothing keeping you from buying or selling but if you operate a cinema or video related business with "Red" in the title expect to receive some letters from lawyers.
Just looking out.
Really evin?..so you couldn't offer services to hire cameras with the name Red in the title, even if the website wasn't a registered company? Anyone else know anything about this, i bought these a couple of years ago when i was trying to think of a name for a website to rent my camera from.:confused1:
You can do whatever you want, but Red has the right to protect it's brand and even if you won in court, consider the cost to your relationship (with Red) and your pocketbook after legal proceedings.
I can tell you this every entity that has used Red in it's name on this board has eventually changed it.
Guys it was not my intention to to upset anyone, i really was not aware of this, a bit naive of me maybe. Alls well that ends well.
Nowadays, on the internet, everybody seems to be a lawyer![]()
So would I not be allowed to call the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 a red camera?
How about RED owner/operators using their camera serial number as a reel/hire site? ie. www.red666.com, www.red2067.com. And maybe printing it on crew t-shirts?
im not big on the type of camera used on crew tee's..
the camera is so miner to the production of a film.. its just another tool..
You dont see the model of microphone used to record sound..
but I digress..
