My friend sent me this screenshot off Google maps yesterday. Very interesting. Is RED thinking about opening a service center in Austin? Another sales center? Either way, I'd like an answer and possibly a part time job.

It actually has RED located in the same building an airplane flew into just a year and a half ago. It used to be an IRS building...

Interestingly, if you put 'RED Digital Cinema' into google maps you get two entries - the one Justin posted above and a second location further north on 183 just past Braker (across the freeway from Seton Northwest).
Hm.

I hope so. Ill be moving to Austin when I graduate in Spring

Maybe ill see you guys around!

I didn't think that they ever rebuilt that building. Seem like it was still a shell the last time that I drove past there. Would be nice, though,

They've rebuilt the structure, and put all new glass on the building. Last time I checked it was vacant, but it'd be nice to see RED move in.

And Luis, I saw the other location too, just off Braker.

I know Stuart lived here for awhile, but he's since located back to Lake Forest. I'm really hoping that what I see on the map rings true.

That building is 5 minutes from my production office.

I have heard some buzz around town about some reps from RED spending some time here. I know one reason that they would be down here, but if they open a service center/store that would be great! And I too would want to work there...

UPDATE: I drove by the building just yesterday and it looks like they're rebuilding the inside now. All the glass windows have been replaced on the outside of the building. I'm still very curious to see if RED will be operating out of this building.

Any word from RED will be great...hehehe

Either I have a very twisted mind, or a great ability to connect cosmic dots (goto 1:34):

When Justin said isn't this the building that a plane flew into (actually a tragic story for all involved),
once my mind thought about that (bad event), then I thought...

"the odds of another plane hitting that building have got to be astronomical! (we'll take it)"

Which then my brain said, hey that comes from a movie.

Funny right... how the brain meanders.

"It's been pre-disaster-ed. It'll be safe here." Gotta love that line.

Thanks, always hoping people get my Non sequitur / sequitur humor.

It sucks to laugh alone sometimes.
