Red day question

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, I just couldn't find it.

What's a good airport to fly into for the Red Day? Anyone got a suggestions for a good nearby hotel?

John Wayne Airport ( SNA ) is the closest if your airline will fly there...

you will miss out on the lovely LA traffic experience though

holiday inn at Laguna Beach is nice & you can walk to nearby resturants ...
give yourself at least 25min for the drive to Red ...

My wife works in a studio down there a lot. You can get a decent hotel cheap on priceline- especially if you're off the beach. $50/3 stars, $75/4 stars.

Closest to RED is the Courtyard Marriott in Foothill Ranch, CA. Also less than a mile is Hampton Inn and Comfort Suites.

If you are making a weekend of it, Dana Point is my favorite beach town.

Yeah, I stayed at the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort in Dana Point. Was very nice, and got a good price on Priceline.
