RED Control App

Just wondering if anyone know if you can set the RED Control App to stay on or attached to your camera even if you pocket your phone.
I always have to re connect when I close my phone or put it in my pocket for a while.
It would be nice to just flip open the iPhone and the camera settings still be up and running.. I don't really care if it eats through a bit of battery just don't what to have to reconnect every time

I usually turn off the "Lock screen" function that keeps the screen and app from going to sleep.
