  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just finished refreshing my orders to get a few extra bits and bobs, I felt like a a kid in a candy store!:).I hope i win a golden ticket to Jim Jannards Red Factory :)
My order had the old premium production pack so i was well over due for an account overhaul.Red.com/my_account BETA 2 worked virtually seamless
Good Job!I hope i can get all extra orders by shipment time ...wouldn't want all members of red digital cinema to fall victim to a mass serial killer now would we....
 
You can change quantities of items you already have by just hitting the quantity box. To order additional items, just use www.red.com/store and choose "Wire Transfer" as the payment method during checkout. If your additional order is only for accessories (no camera bodies) you can pay the deposit and balance at the same time when your RED ONE is ready to ship.

i have done this but now my account history is right although my open orders only shows my first order pending , i would also like to change the quantity of xlr cables ordered to just the 1 instead of 4 as it wont give me a delete option . I have made a few separate orders and was wondering if you could combine all individual orders into one for me (-3 xlr cables)
sorry about the numerous orders... i got a bit excited and didn't think things through on my amendments , i was trying to get this done by the 25th which was the time allocated as via email from you guys about my shipment

When changing the number of items, the total sum still shows the old numbers.

That is a bug still needs to fixed ASAP. Working on it now.

I wasn't aware of the "my account" section on the red website. I think it is really great to have this, I love it. I haven't yet ordered anything but it seems to work flawlessly. A "printer friendly" option for the pages would be nice.

LABOPROD, would the Printer Friendly option be most useful for you on the Open Orders page, Order History page, or were you thinking of printing a complete account summary with all information on file?

Ryan, just checked my account. Just a minor issue - open order should include the 10021 just ordered but is reflected in the Order History. Lim

Lim, FYI, Order SO-0010021 is now in your Open Order list. The bug that put it in Order History is fixed.

Now that the orders are all properly accessible in Open Orders, you can get right in and adjust the quantities. BTW, you've got a total of 5 XLRs on order... ;-)

Nothing to be sorry about! You're using My Account exactly the way we hoped people would. You're able to move items between orders to keep everything organized. Perhaps a "delete order" button would be useful also... ;-)

strange is that brianb@red.com send me a mail where he writes that i have one brick on backorder, and if i wish to get it in 3-5 days.

i am afraid because my account displays my red as completed that you guys forget to send me a tracking number.

K.Berlin. At this time, when items are marked as "complete" it doesn't mean that it's necessarily been shipped, but it means that the items are ready in the warehouse and should ship shortly.

We're also working to get Order Tracking information integrated, at which point we'll be able to offer online tracking numbers.

Bottom line. Hold tight buddy. When it says "complete" you should be getting a tracking number soon (within a few days).

Hi Ryan,
my account is really funny. Deleted items come back from time to time. Then I delete them again and save changes. "Changes saved" appears. One time I deleted one item and I got a shock because everything disappeared. After some time it appeared again and items were not deleted. I was afraid to try it again.
I think now it is now its right.

it´s just not possible to delete items! Every time I delete one and save changes, it vanishes and shows up again in the order history. A couple of Hours later its back in the open order section.

If you find some time, please delete the order with the Red Brick, and the one with the Red Case (Only this two items please).

Ryan just to let you know, i changed my address on the system and now my red is going to my old address. Fedex was good about it. I will do a pickup. But from my end the address was updated, don't know what happened on your end.
 
Here's my experience:

1. It kept saying I had to be a member that's already taken possession of a RED ONE camera and so: ACCESS DENIED! (x2 tries), using pc laptop home vista premium; 3rd try - access granted.

2. Why no easy access button to accounts on the homepage or through the store? Thousands of customers are ordering, but you have to dig to find the account access 'secret' input....

3. Why are subsequent orders not consolidated and updated? It says you can drag items between orders that aren't locked, which means you should drag only to your first order, and I've made two substantial orders. I've also tried to cancel items which continue to show up. Which leads to....

4. Cancelled, or trashed items, still appear.

I have noticed however that there is a summary of all deposits paid. Good.

And I've just realised #3 is a bit oversimplified, maybe I've added an EVF, which may be locked in a second order. But this still seems to be overcomplicating the matter....

I had two open orders so I moved all items from the second order to the first one (the one including the Red One).
Saved the changes..

but now when I login my second order is gone and all the items I moved to the first order are also gone?

what happend ?

I think all orders from one buyer should be consolidated. And updated. After several months, it sounds possible, but I hate paperwork....

Orders that are closed are effectively "consolidated" in the "Order History" section.

When it comes time for your camera delivery, we'll consolidate all of the open items that are in stock, also "consolidating" your orders.

Could you PM me the details of this transaction, it sounds like you are attempting to place an order via the wrong account.

My Account is 95% ready for LIVE - which is why we've still got the "BETA" tagline on
top. As soon as we launch it live, we'll add it to the site navigation.

New orders are not "editable" until they've been downloaded into our accounting system. If you try again, they should be editable. Please PM or repost if you don't find that's the case.

4. Cancelled, or trashed items, still appear.
They will "re-appear" if you do not click the SAVE button. If you've saved your changes, they should be removed. Again, PM or email if you find that's not the case.
