  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED.com/My Account - BETA 2 - ONLINE!

I have three open orders. The one for the 16GB CF is not shown as open order but in order history - I assume this is 9442 as the amount is about right but without line item detail or status. This order is definitely not shipped yet. Lim

Lim, I resynchronized your account and I believe all is proper now. Please advise if you see any other issues.

I can modify my initial order (3156), but on the Order History I just get a screen with another order number (#SO-0009704) and a payment-total, but no information about the products that are in this order. So no chance to edit or review my complete packege.

This weekend we resynchronized all previously downloaded orders, and checking into your account, both orders now show up properly on the main Open Orders page. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Another bug I came across is, that my initial order resets the shipping adress to an old adress I was living last year as I ordered the camera. I've already deleted the old adress from my adresses and changed it to the new one, but when I logged in my account today, it seemed to change to the old one. Would be very problematic if Red would send my camera to another town and dump it on the frontyard of a clueless person ....

Thomas, note that updating an address in the My Account "Address Book" DOES NOT retro-actively update open sales orders that use this address. The Address Book is just a convenient way to avoid having to keep typing the same address.

To update the Billing and/or Shipping address on existing Open Sales Orders, you use My Account Open Orders page and click the Bill To or Ship To address. Select an Address Book entry from the Drop Down box, or enter a new address. Click Update.
Once changes are complete, click the "Save Changes" button at the top of the page.

Thank you Ryan!
I think I got it now: I should not drag and drop from one order to another (I thought I could collect all items under one Order number). Adding creates every time a new order number.
Sorry making you such a lot of work!
Cheers
Marc

there is no accounting for deposits paid

The sum of all deposits on file for your account should be displayed on the My Account "Welcome Page" as:

Code:
Your current account balance is $XX,XXX.00

Note that if you've placed multiple deposits for multiple orders, we credit the sum of all your deposits when calculating the balance required to ship your order. For example, if you ordered two RED ONE's, serial #1500 and #3000, then you would have deposited 3,500 USD (17,500 x 2 x 10%). When serial #1500 was ready to ship, we would only request payment of $14,000 to ship, and then require $17,500 to ship #3000.
(Note, the above example assumes that the deposit for #3000 was placed before #1500 was invoiced)

Okay Ryan,

would the two accounts merge in to the new one under KETCHFRAME.com?

ciao

Yes, you can definitely merge the two account but you'll need to contact your Bomb Squad rep to get this completed.

CU XXXXX74 is connected to your .mac account (most orders are here)
CU XXXXX33 is connected to your ketchframe.com account

You're Bomb Squad rep will need to move all Sales Orders from CU XXXXX33 to CU XXXXX74, delete all email addresses attached to account CU XXXXX33 and then delete account CU XXXXX33.

Once this is completed, you can log into My Account and change your email address from the .mac address to the ketchframe address, or just add the ketchframe address under the alternate contacts section allowing you to log into the account (and soon to receive updates) at either address.

<non-retail product> - meaning?

<non-retail product> - meaning?

ryan

just checked my account because camera is nearly ready to ship.

one position - the name of my ordered bricks - is "offline", now named "<non-retail product>". SKU is still fine with 401001S.
is this a temporary issue? just want to let you know.

and: how often do you update the account? i did transfer some money to my account, but it is still not added.

thanks for support.

Like too many of our clients, you've got TWO (at least) Customer Accounts connected to two separate email addresses.

CU-XXXXX55 connected to your gmail.com account
CU-XXXXX04 connected to your compuserve.com account

Login to both the red.com/store and red.com/my_account with your compuserve.com account and I'm sure you'll find everything that you're looking for.

When you've got a moment, contact your Bomb Squad Rep and request that the Sales Orders from account CU-XXXXX55 are moved to account CU-XXXXX04, and delete all emails attached to account CU-XXXXX55, and close account CU-XXXXX55.

Note that after this is done, you can change your email address for CU-XXXXX04 to your gmail account, or add your gmail account under the "Alternate Contacts" section of My Account.

I am sorry, Compuserve closed their service in France a year after I made my deposit for RED one and it is has been source of many annoyances for me, it has been my unique e-mail adress for more than 12 years, now we migrated to ONE unique e-mail adress @gmail and I hope they don't close.
Thanks for explantions,
have a nice day,

Leon, I would recommend you to get your own domain - that costs only a couple of dollars a year, and that way you can chose who your e-mail supplier is. You can simply forward all e-mail to your @gmail account, and if Google should go bust you simply change the forwarding address - none of your contacts will ever have to change anything.

And to be on the subject again:

When I re-arrange items within an order, then push "save", then the order reverts to the old one. Also, after pushing "save" comes just a page showing "your changes have been saved", maybe it should also show the open orders again - so that one can check the saved changes.

When changing the number of items, the total sum still shows the old numbers.

And another major problem: it is not possible to change the Cameras serial number to one of the currently shipped ones... I am sure that would be a very popular function...:clown2:

Ryan,

I see an order in the Order History for a "non retail item" for 895.00, but I have no idea what that is for. Help please.

Typically replacement parts and items that have been cancelled will come in as "non-retail item". Best to follow up with your Bomb Squad Rep about this one.

Hi Ryan
The Order History is right but the Open orders only mentions another camera. I also have the set of Primes on order which is missing.

Cheers, Chris

Martin, you are correct. The visual sequence of line items on the order is not saved at this time. It's only there to make organizing convenient while dragging items between orders (which is saved).

When changing the number of items, the total sum still shows the old numbers.

That is a bug still needs to fixed ASAP. Working on it now.

Yep... I'll be working on the Editable Serial Number adjustments at the same time as the Editable Prices.... Definitely will be My Account's "Killer App"...

Hi Chris, our system shows you have been delivered everything you ordered except your second camera. I'll go ahead and add a prime set to your open camera order, though these aren't ready to ship yet.

I wasn't aware of the "my account" section on the red website. I think it is really great to have this, I love it. I haven't yet ordered anything but it seems to work flawlessly. A "printer friendly" option for the pages would be nice.

ryan there is a joystick repair kit...but how to order through my account?

Where is that? I have my joystick button that doesn't hold anymore and I have difficulty to find a tiny screwdriver or key that fit into it.

Thanks,
antoine.

You need an 0.9mm allen key. Order it here http://www.hager.ch/ or shoot me an E-mail/PM with your address and I send one to you.

Ryan, just checked my account. Just a minor issue - open order should include the 10021 just ordered but is reflected in the Order History. Lim
