  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Collective: Ty Evans | Ghost Digital Cinema

A couple years back I was looking at some footage that I found online, it was from one of the first affordable 'cinema' cameras. The footage looked a lot better than everything I'd seen from DSLRs at the time. I did some digging around and saw that Ty had tested the camera out, so I emailed him to see what he thought. He told me what some of the limitations were, and that RED was selling refurbished Red Ones for four-thousand bucks. I think I must have bought one of the last cameras available. Once I got the camera, everything changed for me. I switched my focus from photography to learning how to shoot and edit moving pictures. At each step in my career I've checked in on what Ty has been up to, and each time he's pushed through to a new level. Directing commercials, directing features putting a full-service production together. Always reckless, always fearless, always one-upping himself. Hopping fences, dodging security, snipping locks, stealing shots, taking risks and coming out on top; I can't think of anyone who embodies the maverick spirit of RED more than Ty. Figure it out, roll up your sleeves and get it done. People throw the word 'inspirational' around quite a lot, but Ty is always forging ahead and it's something that rubs off on everyone who knows him. Great portrait of one of the hardest working people I know.

Ty's just one of those guys you true enjoy shooting for. A class act all the way around and you really feel like family. Well deserved video!

This was great! Ty's story is super inspiring!
