Hey Gang,

Thanks for the great info here. I have a workflow to pass by you.

I have transcoded some R3D files to Apple Pro Res. Done a small edit, (FCP6.05) then kicked out a XML.

I took the XML into Crimson(demo) matched it up to the original R3D files, using the intermediates(used "Cowboy intermediates") Followed the demo instructions on Crimson's video. Spit out the new Red Cine XML.

Went into Red Cine loaded my shots in...imported the new Red Cine XML and Red Cine does not find my edit points form my edit, it just sees the entire clips.

I tried the whole thing importing the RED proxies but got the same thing. I'm so close to getting thru this...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Crimson

I had the same problem and found that leaving Crimson open when I opened REDCINE worked for me. Simple solution for me but it worked after emails to Ian and Red. Give it a whirl.

Hey Elijah,

We got things to work...it was acually a finger problem..I was pointing RED Cine to the wrong XML after loading the shots.... So now I have things loaded and I just want to export the DPX files to AVID or SMOKE, could someone fill me in on the process? Since things match up in REDCine, the DI house gets the DPX sequence(in seperate folders) or in one long sequence so they can colour, then they essentially scan the the coloured sequence to film? I know theres probably much more to it, but am I in the ball park?

Oh and just a note, Crimson worked really well for us..Thanks Ian!
