Ok, so I am getting pretty disappointed here. I bought some accessories from a fellow user (very nice guy) and now everything he has sent me is shitting out. First the Red Drive went out after only 2 days of shooting and I have confirmed that it is dead. Then, while I am trying to save up for some Redmags, the Red charger that I bought is blinking red for these batteries http://videoproshop.biz/ (RED compatible ones). It was charging great and then suddenly... Boom, only blinks orange for a while and then back to red - then back to orange and repeat. I am not sure if it is the battery or the charger but the battery is brand new unlike the charger.

Just really disappointed as I have been wanting to shoot on the camera but have been out for weeks. Any tips or threads you can link me too for the charger? Thanks!

trying putting some tape on the charger to push the brick battery closer to the connections on the charger.

Thanks Brian. Tried that - still not working. It blinks orange and then I hear a click and it goes to red. Then a click again for orange - and so on

Hi Brennan. I assume you've tried both sides of the charger?

Also, do you or anyone you know, or a local camera rental company have a Red Brick battery to test the charger with. It's the only way to isolate whether the problem is the charger, the battery or just a basic incompatibility between the two despite the manufacturer claims.

The other thing is the contact banana pins under the plastic shield of the charger can lose their springiness and make poor contact with the battery. Look closely at them and check that the bit that is springy is slightly outside of the pin itself for each pin. If not you can gently prise them out a bit with a pin or very small instrument screwdriver to make better contact. Poor contact on these pins can also cause hotspots which can warp/melt the plastic shield or the battery contacts. Check there's no warped/melted plastic obstructing the contacts.

Also, if the batteries are warm from powering the camera, they sometimes need to cool down before they will charge properly. And also try taking it off and putting back on the charger a few times in succession.
