Hello Dear Redusers,
I'm having the red, green blinking, just re-seated the battery and turns orange but suddenly goes red again,,,
and after too many tries it started working
what do I'm doing wrong?

I've never suffered that much charging any battery before

yes Andrew I've checked that thread before posting

Have tried turning it off and turning it on... (Sorry- joke from "The IT Crowd")

Then did you pm Stuart... just trying to be helpful. I have not had the bad experience that you are having so I cannot help from first hand experience.

Again, good luck.

I am getting the red light a lot and I suppose it is because the batteries are too hot to be charged. Not that they are really hot or anything, they just feel handwarm on the outside but let them cool down for a while and then they charge just fine (yellow-orange light comes up).

problem is in bad qualiti pins on red charger!they damageing a batteri pins and you cant charg!we have same problems!you must clean +- pin on batteries
ps.sorry on my english

Hello Karim,

I have the same problems, but it can be manage most of the time.

The charger is too smart for it's own good.

When there are too many devices drawing power from the same breaker the charger will behaved badly.

Try turning it off then moved to an independent circuit.

Unless you have a bad charger, which there are a few, that should help.

That's probably a good idea. Other than that you may try different batteries and see if the problem is with the charger or the battery. Then, contact Red support. They are very responsive and helpful.

ps. Your English is just fine! Thanks for posting.

ey karim, we've noticed that when the battery comes out of the cam it's pretty hot and the charger won't accept it. We wait +/-10mins for it to cool down and it works again.

take care karim

i noticed that if the camera fully drains the batteries the charger has more problems that usual

try to change batteries before they go under 10% and your problems will be less

I had the red light charger probleme yesterday on a shoot, and it wasn't the first time. I charged a battery this morning and it worked at the first try.
Luis I think you gave me the key to my probleme, Well, I hope it's that one
Thank you.

Battery recharge time

Battery recharge time

How can i chabge charging mode from normal to fast my batteries full charge less tan 2 hours ?? i have read something that is takes 8 hours for normal full charge

Charging the battery is a three step process.

a) Prepare the battery for fast charge

b) Fast charge the battery (this takes it to about 80% capacity)

c) Top up the battery

With the current charger firmware steps a) and b) will be completed in around 2 hours, and if there is a second battery connected, the charger will switch over to do those two steps on the second battery after its completed them on the first, and then return to the first battery to complete step 3 etc.

So for a full charge on both batteries its an overnight charge timeline, but for 80% capacity you should be able to get away with 2 hours per battery.

Thanks Stuart . i can understand something here
If i want to full charge batteries then i should put them both on a charger and leave them ? is that correct ?
for how long the (c) charging mode it will take's ?

EDIT : OKAY .. OKAY

UNDERSTAND NOW .THANKS

Did you check if your battery was worm after removing from the cam? You have to wait a little bit, about 10 or 15 min. that the battery cool down. The charger will not start with the hot battery on it.....
