Hello All,

At the moment I'm using the Sony Z1 and have done for 4-5 years now. The camera is great, a proper workhorse. I film motoring events like the World Rally Championship so from the Mud/Wind/Rain/Cold from Wales to the hot/dusty conditions in Portugal.

I'm looking at the Scarlet but worried it won't be able to handle these conditions? So am I wrong? Or is there added protection I can purchase?

Thanks for any help.

You might like to look at the recently posted Epic videos. It reiterates that the cooling system is sealed away from the electronics, to keep it watertight. This should make the camera more rugged. A raincover should take care of the rest.

The scarlet and epic both have a sealed off cooling system. If any debris or water gets in the cooling ducts the only damagable part are the fans - which are easy access with an allen key.

Apparently the cooling system is much more effective. Since ive seen lots of videos from the RED one filmed in the desert - could assume it should work in that heat.

Thanks that is what I was looking for. I don't abuse my cameras but they will be working in some harsh conditions.
