This is for a short film currently being cast. Shooting is May 22-May 31st. Not all days will require shooting, and days that do won't require the full day. If nobody steps up, we'll use our existing Nikon D90 camera. Film will be professionally edited, sound mixed, and color corrected (PCDP). Music is by Moby. Film will be shown to a live audience on June 1st. After that, it will be the featured artist showcase at the end of another program, expected to have ~100,000 viewers. Finally, the film will be entered into numerous festivals, and will likely be part of a filmmaker/Final Cut Pro profile on apple.com and possibly on the iTunes store (producer has contacts for this at Apple). A "making of" documentary with photography and video is being shot simultaneously for this project for that purpose.

This is a great opportunity to have some fun and get a lot of exposure for you and your Red on a comedic and uplifting short film with a great story. Shoot has a small crew, will be using mostly natural light, and the film is mostly visual without a lot of complex dialogue, so your Red footage will really get showcased. Numerous shot setups, but individual shots are short. Director moves fast, is highly tech-savvy, and has a background in commercials. If you have your own Steadicam for the Red, even better. We're currently planning on using a Steadicam Pilot for the D90 for certain shots and will likely be able to hire a Steadicam operator with a larger rig if you and your Red join the project.

We don't have a budget to rent a Red (or really even the need for one -- it's more of a nice to have), but are willing to pay an operator who wants the opportunity and has their own Red $100/day. This is a resume building opportunity, not a job. :-) You will receive prominent credit/thanks in the credits.

Did I mention we're fun? Please call or email Erich Ocean with questions. (323) 482-3204 & red-craigslist@erichocean.oib.com

Just an update, some people have stepped forward from the Craigslist post with acceptable offers. I'm interviewing this weekend. If anyone else is interested, please contact me in the next 24 hour to be considered. Thanks!

Does he know?

Yes. It's 100% legal, and you know what's cool about this industry? Everyone *wants* it to be legal too. For example, my sound designer wouldn't agree to the project until he saw the permissions.

So thanks for asking. I wish more people cared about that stuff.
