Hey all. So I just picked up a BMCC to get Resolve and have as a B-CAM to run on my lower end productions. Just wondering (as the battery life on the BMCC is crap) if I can power it with my RED bricks? If so how would I do that?
Thanks :)

I think there are p/d-tap to BMCC connectors… Maybe from Blackmagic, actually. Or v-mount plates to BMCC-connector.

Do this with Pocket Cam and runs the camera, monitor, etc for a long time.

Awesome! So if I buy one of those D-Tap chords, I can plug it into my BMCC from my RED brick? Also any idea on the battery length doing it this way?

Don't forget to post an image of your redbrick on the back of the Blackmagic cam. I posted an image of a redbrick on the back of an Arri Alexa a while back. It amused a few people and elucidated some risqué comment too.

I have a d-tap cable from hotrod cameras that i use with my b4p v mount batts on my bmcc

As mentioned, it accepts a wide range of voltages so you should have no issues..

The good thing is that it's has pretty low power consumption , i'm able to get through a days worth of shooting on a single 90wh battery

So I picked up everything today. Came across an issue. The Blackmagic D-Tap cable will not fit into my RED belt clip. The curve on the cable is slightly bigger than the hole on the RED belt clip :S It refuses to fit :( aren't the D-tap connections supposed to be universal?

Yes, I thought they were supposed to be universal.

Do you have a friend with another battery plate or other batteries you can try? I know that the GMP/Bellien re-branded batteries have a d-tap directly on the battery. Conversely, in my experience it's been the opposite (my battery plate's d-tap was incredibly forgiving, while the battery d-tap was super tight.)

Also, when you get this thing up and running, let us knowhow long the camera actually runs for… Something tells me it'll be like 5 hours (what's the draw of the BMpocket?)

Yeah. I've contacted my bombsquad rep so hopefully find out soon. I tried a few other D-tap cables and they all have the same issue. It looks like my RED plate might have been machined slightly off. The curves at the top of the D-tap connection seem to be slightly more curved than all the chords
