RED Battle Tested

Anyone have experience with RED battle tested products? I'm thinking about buying a few lenses coming up and it is impossible to tell the quality. It states there may be cosmetic blemishes or something, but no real pics of the actual products. I would like to see a system like B&H has with a used rating system, etc. Any comments or advice appreciated. Thanks

Have you spoken with your bomb squad rep lately? I don't think mine has slept in weeks… I'm going there next week to pick up my Scarlet so I'll ask to see it; that is if it hasn't shipped by then.

I ordered a Battle Tested 18-85mm and upon arrival meticulously looked over it to see what constituted the "Battle Tested" price. After close examination I found one 2cm very light scratch/mark on the exterior of the barrel next to the focus ring. I rubbed my finger over it and it went away, haha. Just a smudge from something. I put it next to a brand new 18-85mm and asked a friend to tell me which was which and he could not. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I would not hesitate a second to buy more BT stuff .

Bought a BT 300mm lens that looked new, no idea why they would have sold it that way, but fine by me. Also immediately bought a BT RED Rocket card when it went on sale a couple years ago. That was a great catch.

Battle tested items are the best deal going at RED.

This is great news. It is good to know they are super honest and getting out great equipment. I would imagine it is a case of open boxes, tested lenses, etc. This is all great news. Thanks for everyone posted. I hope a 17-50 Battle Tested shows up soon.

Another example of Red doing the right thing! They could easily sell BT gear as new and we would never know.
