  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi everybody. This is my first post here.
I'm very, very interested in Scarlet fixed cam and I'm planning to buy one when it will be released. I'm just a little worried about EU assistance (I think Red Europe does'nt exist yet). Maybe some Red One owner could give me some informations about this matter. Thank you in advance.
 
I asked this before and a RED Europe rep said it will be possible to buy the fixed from England... same price as USA but with tax/shipping for Europe.

It seems, once the Scarlet is released, you would have to contact the Euro rep and put in an order. I have no idea how this will affect your place in line to get the camera. My concern is that, even if we order on the 1st day (from RED Europe) we may have a longer wait ahead of us than if we just order through the website.

Hopefully a RED guy can clarify this a little more.

It would be great if they had 1000 or so cameras shipped to Europe, pre-launch (assuming they are making ALOT of cameras ready for launch), so that we can just purchase via red.com and select RED Europe for shipping.
 
The price of the tax will be worth going to the US for a holiday and bringing it back. That's what I'm planning to do. The UK gets enough of my sterling as it is :)

Thank you very much everybody. I really hope we will able to buy the Scarlet in EU at the same price as USA (usually in Italy we must pay - and I really don't understand why - a 30/40 % more for tech products).

Yeah I guess. Option 1; Pay stupid amounts of TAX to the UK or Option 2; Go to LA for a holiday and pick up a Scarlet or two. I know what I'm doing, hehe
